Description

Pear- or quince-shaped symmetrical ovoid bodies, composed of fibrous calcareous material; outer margins sharply delimited, usually with 1 or 2 small circular inclusions suggesting an initial tube or vacuole. Rock-forming organism in Permian of USSR. [Systematic position questionable; described by MASLOV as alga; interpreted by RIGBY as hydrozoan.]
